This is a 2006 Supercharged Saleen Mustang. The car has the looks, it has the speed. But the stereo was something less than to be desired.
Design aspects: The first designs were to integrate the XXX into some sort of regular styled ported enclosure with plexi windows. But with the size of this
woofer, that wasn't possible. So we glassed the enclosure into the spare tire well. That gave us roughly 3.1cu^ft net. Then another problem. we couldn’t fit
the XXX into the enclosure. So we inverted it. Which came out better in our opinion because the XXX is such a good looking woofer. The round pillars in the
rear of the truck was new to Ray. After ray noticed the Image Dynamics guys using mdf to wrap around a round surface. It sparked his interest. It's a much
cleaner look then the normal square look. He used Italian poplin to wrap those round pillars.
The amp rack is basic flush, but believe it or not they were the hardest part to fabricate out of this entire
Build. Soooo much sanding to make a non-flat amp flush. Then wrapping the thinned out 1/4" MDF was an absolute bitch!
My favorite part of this system is the RE8's in the door. Words can't describe how good they sound. So all you guys out there with subs in your doors... we
get it.
